You can find thorough information about school closures in general right here.

The Villager Newspaper wrote about the possible closure; you can read the article here.

What's Proposed

The Toronto District School Board (TDSB) has lost 29,000 students since 2001—a decline of more than 10%. This is equivalent to 10 secondary schools of 1,200 and 33 elementary schools of 500.

To deal with this decline and plan for the future, the TDSB has started a process of reviewing programs and space requirements in six wards; our ward is one of them. The process is called General Asset and Program Planning (GAPP). Unfortunately, one of the recommendations being made is to close King George Junior Public School and relocate the students to Humbercrest Public School. Another recommendation is to increase the size of Humbercrest to accommodate 800 to 900 students. A further recommendation is to restructure Warren Park Junior Public School to serve students from Junior Kindergarten to Grade 8.
